“Turkesterone” is the hottest new supplement compound that has taken over the internet.
Also known casually as “turk” – this supplement claims to boost testosterone, strength and overall performance – huge gains similar to anabolic steroids – without any of the downsides!
Big if true – as the kids would say these days – but does Turkesterone live up to the hype? Let’s find out….
What Is Turkesterone?
Turkesterone is a steroid hormone found in plants and insects. It’s primarily responsible for growth in these species – which makes sense that it may also drive growth and performance in humans.
It’s part of a class of compounds call ecdysterones that have been around for a long time but have been recently rediscovered due to the amount of performance and growth they have shown in small sample studies.
Also, due to a mixture of it’s novelty and limited studies – it’s considered a legal substance across the board.
This makes Turkesterone a fascinating supplement option for anyone looking to build muscle and increase strength and performance while steering clear of banned substances.
The Origins of Turkesterone
Turkesterone is derived from plants – specifically the ajuga plant. Other ecdy-compounds are sourced from different insects and plants, but when talking about turkesterone – the plant “ajuga turkestanica” is the primary culprit.
While many people think that “turkesterone” has Turkish origins – this isn’t true. However, while new to the West, Turkesterone has been extensively studied in Russia – and while they may have a suspect record on doping – they do seem to do a good job of finding compounds that boost human physical performance.
Does Turkesterone Work?
The short answer to “does turkesterone work” is “maybe.” Preliminary studies seem to be very, very promising and some people even say it should be banned because it’s too effective.
But other people cite the lack of history with the supplement (it is pretty new) and say there need to be more studies on this to see if it’s effective.
We think both answers can be true.
The 5 Main Benefits of Turkesterone
There are 5 main benefits of turkesterone that seem to be getting people excited:
Similar results to steroids without the androgenic effects
The main reason people use turkesterone is that it has similar growth results to typical (and banned) steroids without the typical androgenic effects. This may make it safer and more accessible to a wider amount of people.
No cycle therapy needed
Because turkesterone is not a steroid – you do not have to do a post-cycle therapy recovery like you would have to do with typical steroid.
Turkesterone Improves muscle growth
Probably. Some users have reported up to 10lbs of muscle gained! While that’s a lot, and should be taken with a grain of salt, the research tentatively seems to back this up (even if not to such extremes).
We’re collecting more data on this on a daily basis, so if you have a case study you’d like to share, please send it in.
Improved insulin sensitivity
Improved insulin sensitivity is correlated with multiple positive health outcomes including better fasting glucose levels and the next item – which people care quite a bit about.
Improved body composition
Due to the muscle growth and insulin sensitivity, many people report improved physiques after taking Turkesterone and seeing an increase in positive body composition and decrease in body fat.
Common Questions About Turkesterone
Given Turkesterone is such a new substance – there’s obviously some common questions that pop up:
Is Turkesterone Legal?
Yes, Turkesterone is a legal compound available to purchase in most places around the world.
Is Turkesterone A Steroid?
Turkesterone is part of a class of compounds called “ecdysteroids” – some people take this to mean that it’s an actual steroid. It’s not. It’s just name of the chemical compounds found in insects & plants.
Is Turkesterone Banned?
No, turkesterone is not banned – although some people are calling for it to be due to the incredible results some people have seen in preliminary studies – it’s not on the banned substance lists for WADA or any other groups.
Is Turkesterone Natty?
Because Turkesterone or “turk” is not found on the WADA doping list of agents – yes – it is considered “natty” for the time being. That, however, is subject to change in the future.
Can You Explain Turkesterone vs. Ecdysterone?
Turkesterone and ecdysterone are two compounds that are often confused with one another. While they’re not exactly the same – they are similar.
Turkesterone is part of a series of compounds called ecdysteroids. These are all sister compounds that are chemically similar but derived from different sources including plants and insects. These compound names include ecdysone, ecdysterone, turkesterone, and 20-hydroxyecdysone.
Some people find that some of these compounds work better for themselves than the others, but it’s all so new – so there is a lot of experimentation going on right now so you will have to try for yourself.
With that said – from our research, it does seem to show that Turkesterone is the most promising out of the 4 of them. Also, it doesn’t hurt that Turkesterone has a cooler name. Ha 🙂
However, you can experiment on your own with the other compounds – although they may be harder to source at the moment than Turkesterone.
The Top 2 Places to Buy Turkesterone
There are basically two places on the internet that are trustworthy enough to spend your money and trust your body to when it comes to buying turkesterone online.
These are our top two recommendations if you’re looking to buy turkesterone online:
Turk by Turkesterone.com
In a world of fly-by-night online supplement shops not regulated by the FDA – it’s good to see a reliable source of Turkesterone from the official Turkesterone.com.
Unlike other supplement shops that popped up overnight to take advantage of a supplement trend – Turkesterone only sells its flagship product – Turk – which means it can focus it’s time and energy on that and you can be sure that the quality is up to par.
If you’re looking to get Turkesterone – we recommend you start here.
Turkesterone by Gorilla Mind
Derek at More Plates More Dates is probably to blame for the increased interest in Turkesterone over the past 18 months. He’s done several videos on it and it has blown up since.
While it’s worth noting that Derek clearly has a vested interest in Turkesterone (he sells it), we have no issues with him making money on it – and he’s shown time and again, that he spends lots of time on his formulations. If you’re looking at buying Turkesterone – GM is a good choice (if you can find it in stock).
Shop Gorilla Mind Turkesterone
Pretty much every other place out there selling turkesterone are fly-by-night operations that sprung up to the interest in the compounds, but don’t really have a large history of testing or effectiveness.
If you’re going to experiment with an experimental compound – don’t experiment with the sourcing of it. Go with the top two and you won’t be wrong.
